Brief Description:

Imagine a headband of metal with an arm extending out off the top of your head in front of you. Now imagine on the end of that arm a 12” screen that folds down in front of your head 1.5-2 feet away from your face. That is your computer screen, and on that arm that holds the screen is a small projector that displays what you are looking at on that 12” screen. Also on that arm is a small computer, much like a cell phone, that allows you to access internet from anywhere. Along with this comes a small Bluetooth keyboard and an optional Bluetooth mouse. But the key point in all of this, is the reflective contacts used in place of a mouse. Your eyes will control the curser on the screen in front of you, technology that, at least to my knowledge, has never been used in this way before.

In Depth Description:

Headset: The headset comes on much like a helmet, only breathes much more. It is essentially a metal band that wraps around the top of your head with backbone that stretches over the top of your head from back to front. This headband is very easy to custom fit the size of anyone’s head.
Computer: The headset also houses the small computer you will be using, this computer will have the latest in wireless technology and include Bluetooth for all the devices you can hook up to the computer. This computer will also be able to be removed from the headset for support or other reasons.
Projector: Branching from the headset’s backbone is an arm that extends about 1-2 feet in front of your head. This arm is also able to be adjusted in length. On this arm is a small projector that will display your screen, and yes this technology actually exists. The projector would be similar to LG’s phone projector which you can view at this site here.
Screen: At the end of this arm will be a 12” screen that can pivot almost 360 degrees. This will allow you to lift up the screen so it’s not in the way if you need to talk to someone face to face. This screen will be no more than a white cloth, much like the cloth used for overhead projectors, surrounded by a metal frame.
Infrared Camera: At the top of the frame however will be a small infra red camera, basically the same technology used in the Wii-mote to detect what you’re pointing at. There will also be a couple, not sure on the actual amount yet, infrared emitting LEDs. These will be necessary for the mouse to function .This infrared camera and the LEDs are used for the main focus of this whole headset computer idea, but we’ll get back to this later.
Keyboard: In order to get anywhere with this computer, you will need a Bluetooth keyboard. This keyboard will be a fully functional QWERTY keyboard about the size of any standard cell phone keyboard. The only difference with this keyboard is that it will also have buttons on the front of it much like the R1/L1 buttons on a PS controller. These buttons will act as the right and left mouse buttons for the computer. Also, in order to make scrolling much easier, because it would be a major pain without it, there will be a sliding piece of plastic located on the underside, probably toward the right to accommodate for most right handed people, of the keyboard to be used as a scroll wheel. This slider will be designed to be used by your middle finger and the reason there will be a slider instead of a scroll wheel is to save space and reduce on the size of the keyboard. The slider will also have springs to pull the slider back to its default, middle position. This will make it easier to scroll when moving from page to page. There will be multiple styles of keyboards to insure everyone will be happy.
Mouse: Now for the mouse, this is new technology that may not even be possible at this current point in time. The mouse will actually be the users eyeball(s). Special contacts fitted with reflected material, like the tape construction workers where on their vests, will bounce light from the LEDs off the contact and into the infrared camera to it exactly where you are looking. Yes, this idea, if possible to get reflective material in contacts, will work. If you have any objections just check out this video by Johnny Chung Lee here. The reflected material in the contact will be shaped like a cross-hair, this will make it easier for the infrared camera to be able to accurately detect where you are looking. Don't forget that at this short of a distance ones eye movement is very small so we need to make this as easy for the camera as possible. Users may be able to buy two reflective contacts for both eyes, doing this may increase accuracy, but it's quite obviously not a proven fact…yet. However if this idea doesn't appeal to you, there will be multiple Bluetooth mice available for you to choose from.
Other Hardware: There will be tons of other things for you to get. For starters, there will obviously be headphones and/or speakers for this contraption. There will also be things such as microphones, possible USB ports, some sort of extra/external memory storage, and possibly a port to plug in a CD-ROM drive to install your own Bluetooth devices.
Support: If such things like CD-ROM drives don’t come out or are too expensive, it will be possible to bring in you computer and have a store install the hardware of your choice for you.

marvin has greatly destroyed this idea by telling me ways to make it way better, but all i have to say is that this invention was based off of technology everyone knew about and it would be pretty cheap to buy/sell

a screen on the inside of a pair of glasses would be pretty cool

for one, good luck getting that done without a pair of big ass glasses, and secondly, that would make you go blind in a matter of uses. its a horrible idea to have a bright screen like that so close to your eyes
