Other countries care more about what the teenagers have to say. In American no one gives a damn what teens have to say because apparently we're not "mature" yet. I think it's complete idiocy when there's so much teenage smoking, drug dealing, bullying, etc going on to the point where adults think they understand this. They don't. It's a new generation and adults only have minimal knowledge of what is going on. And yet they keep asking for adult's opinions on this when all we can do is take a simple survey or answer a question that can be answered in one or two words: yes or no.

It's true that the first amendment states the freedom of speech but how much speech is actually heard or cared about? Everyday the higher authority and the adults try to create new laws thinking they are going to benefit us but in fact the laws are going to become our demise. Wisdom does not come with age. That is just a broad and ignorant statement. Many of us here can prove that due to our serious topics in the forum. The most ignorant of all things are that the adults think they understand more about every topic just because they're older. This is not their generation. It's our generation and I feel we should take a stand to all this.

I've seen the statistics for teenage smoking, drinking, premarital sex, etc. What are they really supposed to do? Stop it? Another reason this has become complete idiocy is that whenever a teenager does the first finger points to the parents. The parents didn't raise their child properly. The parents did talk to their child about this stuff. What if they did? The parents can't keep 24/7 watch over their children and there will be a time where teenagers have to become independent and go off on their own. Common sense is a big deal in humanity. Unfortunately many people lack common sense because where is the common sense if we let this all continue? I feel there should be laws made to prevent such things without affecting the parents. This is why of the many reasons I do not like being an American nor am I proud being one.

I believe to each his own, I have had free mind & thought my entire life. For someone to come in and try to control or tell me I couldn't do any peticular thing, we would have a problem.

I would never say I'm not proud to be American though, we have done too many great things that can overshadow the bad. Where would you rather live? Canada? Perhaps it's just New York bro, cause over here it's not too bad, we got the most fucked economy till 10 months from now.
