-non-coin activated -simple press a button and out comes your gumball -prototype as a way to dispense any type of candy that you would find in a quarter machine at walmart -built for use in ones house -runs off a 9-volt battery -currently has only 2 choices (circuit board could only hold two servos)
servo (ome or two depending upon what u want): http://www.hobbyengineering.com/H1430.html
possibly extra money for other materials such as plexiglas, plywood (1/8"-1/4"), and maybe other things

-non-coin activated -simply press the tip to activate -prototype as a way to dispense any type of candy that you would find in a quarter machine at walmart. worried this may result in embarrassing doctor visits though. -built for use in ones house. preferably yours. -No batteries required -currently has only 2 choices: jerk or blow

Wow...is this a science project or something? Or did you just feel inventive?

was a school project for my engineering class. we were allowed to pick from a list of problems and had to make something to solve the problem or make something that was on the list. originally we were supposed to make a soap dispenser with different scents/colors. but we were like, no ones gunna use that, how about a gumball machine, and she let us. the design problem (if you can consider it a problem) was to design something that people could chose one item but have a choice of what variation of that item they wanted (different colors, scents, etc.). originally we were gunna make one that held 5 different colors (we handed out surveys to find out the top flavors, amungst other things like gumball size etc.) but although the circuit board could hold 5 servos, it couldn't hold 5 buttons, only 2, so we settled on only 2 flavors. unfortunately we aren't allowed to keep the circuit board (its schools property) so it'll be used as an example in my school for future years

Wtf...I'll assume your major is also somewhere along the lines of engineering. For some reason it seems like you placed a lot more work then I see normal people do, gratz for a nice job though.
