yes but morals are based off of religion, a catholic may say a satanist lives by bad/corrupt morals while the satanist says he lives by good ones because he does what he is told is right by his religion. are we not told what is right by our religion as well? so basically you are saying you live your life according to your conscience which is controlled by what morals you think are right which actually come from religions most people follow today (i say most people because there are actual satanists. and others similar to that religion. out in our world) not only that but pretty much every religion out there believes in some sort of god, and the ones that don't are more philosophies/ways of life and less actual religions. using this logic it is safe to say real atheists are complete assholes because they have no morals they live their lives according to because they don't belong to a religion that can tell them the morals they need to live by.
this is also the reason government and religion will never be practiced separately because it is impossible.

Mankind invented religion and the afterlife, perhaps as far back as 50,000 years ago, to cope with family or friends dying. Not possessing intelligence to grasp the concept for decay or breakdown of our bodies over aging and disease. It was once the Monarchy age, where kings and others were able to reign over a vast number of city states and providences. The 'Church' evolved into a more modern, world view, with trade and money being their prized possession. How does the word get to your potential flock, if you have no money to pay assholes to knock on peoples doors and request you become one of them? As if you were nothing more, than another mindless product, waiting to be put on the shelf.

Religious morals are simple, it is equal to the reason you won't kill a man, for fear of going to prison for life. It is comparable to the fiery damnation of hell for murder or sin. But this is not the only reason, because if you read into some Buddhist teachings, you will find that a persons life and karma are what provide them with their consequences or level in hell.

They enforce religion to give them adequate base for controlling your mind, and lifestyle. If you are gay, the 'Church' hates you. If you are African American, Latino, or Asian. More than likely they hate you. While they will not show this blindly, it is quiet evident. Don't get me started on the little boys.

It is a matter of keeping the money flowing, you see the reason they don't pay taxes, ask for donations each week, live in such luxury. It is because they are only after your money, not saving your soul. My Uncle is a Deacon of a Church, he has a brand new computer every few months, new technology (printers - plasma), brand new cars with full On-Star packages, etc. Basically they pay him a shit load of money to ask other people for more money.

This proves my point, they don't care about you at all. They are there because sometimes, human beings get sad or lonely or in need of some kind of guidance. These people cannot see that there is a whole world out there, that they should explore. Family and friends that can help. Give you the type of feeling you require to make it through anything.

DAMN IT MARVIN THIS IS THE NOT SO SERIOUS DISCUSSION BOARD, WE DON'T WANNA READ ALL YOU ATHEIST MUMBO JUMBO. however i did and the biggest reason i don't belong to any religion (other than my own because yes, my ego is that big and again yes, i am your god you will see in the after life...jk but i hate religion) is that religion is horribly corrupt in many ways (as Marvin has stated) and i plan on not being any part of such lies and corruption. not only that but i am a man of science (reference: http://synthesis.omgforum.net/writing-short-stories-f20/the-saga-of-science-man-and-cam0-ninja-t46.htm) and if a question cannot be answered i don't fall back on religion for an answer, i wait for science to scream "GOD ISN'T REAL!!! I'M YOUR ANSWER DUMBASSES!!! IN FACT, HERE'S THE ANSWER YOU WERE LOOKING FOR NOW GO CRUSH THE CHURCH THAT OPPRESSES YOU WITH THIS NEW FOUND INFORMATION!!!" Now i do live life by good morals and i consider myself a bit of a hypocrite for it, but that's not to say i believe in anything. You do only get one life, so live it by the morals you set for yourself, not the morals some brainwashed church sets for you. To put my views simply, Darwin is a huge hero of mine (along with others such as Galileo) and if you don't believe in evolution i hope theres a remedial section in the "after life" called Human Evolution 101 with a chair with your name on it.
